Observed by United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization as a source closer to the ideal protein balance than any other grain! Whether you're required to follow a gluten-free, vegetarian or kosher diet or simply want a more nutritious food choice, Quinoa is for you. Quinoa is a high protein grain that is easy to digest and very versatile in the kitchen. Quinoa is a small, light tan seed, round but flattened on the ends. Our Quinoa is locally grown, cleaned and processed in our facilities. Quinoa lends itself well to many cooking styles and applications. It is easily adaptive to both main and side dishes. It is delicious in pilafs, salads, soups, casseroles and baked goods. It can be eaten alone as a side dish or as a hot breakfast cereal.

Our pasta is made with a delightful combination of organic brown rice and organic quinoa flours. It is gluten free and safe for those with gluten sensitivities or intolerance. Quinoa provides additional nutrition and flavor when compared to regular rice or corn pasta. It cooks well with additional water and slightly longer cooking time than wheat pasta.

Oval shaped legume seeds, which come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors. A wide variety are grown in Canada , with the major growing areas being Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. They are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates, fibre, folic acid, potassium and B Vitamins. They are a good source of vegetable protein, and when eaten with nuts, seeds, rice or grains, fulfill the requirements for a complete protein. All beans must be soaked before cooking.

Chickpeas are round, bumpy seeds which are light brown, tan or golden in color. The size ranges from pea-size to marble- size depending on variety. Chickpeas require soaking before cooking.

Lentils are flat, circular, lens-shaped legume seeds grown mainly on the prairies of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. They are an excellent source of protein, fibre, iron and energy. They cook rapidly and require no presoaking. They can be used as vegetables in soups, salads and casseroles or pureed and added to baked products. Lentils are excellent for sprouting.

A Northern delicacy sustainably grown and harvested traditionally. This slender, long dark brown or black seed is from the species zizania aquatica, a water loving member of the grass family. Wild rice has a unique earthy taste and chewy texture and blends well with white and brown rice and is well suited to use in soups and casseroles. One cup of wild rice equals 3 + cups of cooked wild rice.
