Chipits Cherry Jewel Bars


1 1/4 cup NorQuin quinoa flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup margarine
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup salted mixed nuts
1 cup chocolate chips
1 1/2 cup halved green and red cherries

To make base: combine norquin flour with 1/3 cup brown sugar. Cut in margarine to make coarse crumbs. Press into 10 x 15" pan. Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes.

For filling: Beat egg slightly and stir in remaining 1/3 cup brown sugar and salt. Add nuts, cherries and chipits. Toss lightly to coat. Spoon fruit mixtures evenly over baked layer. Press firmly. Bake an additional 20 minutes.
