To become a quinoa producer follow these steps:
1) Read the article below to learn more about quinoa production contracts, our company and general agronomic questions.
2) Fill out application at the bottom of the page; please carefully read the application rules before applying
3) After your application is reviewed; Northern Quinoa's agronomic staff will be in touch with you to walk you through the process and next steps!
*Please note: Northern Quinoa producers who sign total production contracts with the company will be granted the right to use, our registered variety, NQ94PT Quinoa Seed, PBR granted August 12, 2014. This variety of quinoa seed is proprietary to Northern Quinoa, as it is the only registered variety of quinoa seed in Canada. NQ94PT Quinoa seed has been selectively bred and adapted to thrive in the Canadian Prairies by the company over the last two decades.
Furthermore; Northern Quinoa does not currently sell any seed for planting or research purposes. The company reserves the right to follow through with legal action; should any seed be planted for the purpose of propagation if not performed under contract or knowledge and approval of the company.

1. APPLICATIONS ARE REVIEWED BASED ON THREE CRITERIA: LOCATION, PREVIOUS CHEMICALS USED WITH RESIDUE CARRYOVER, AND PREVIOUS CROP TYPE YOU ARE FOLLOWING QUINOA WITH
GROWERS NEED NOT APPLY IF:
A) THEY ARE FOLLOWING CANOLA OR WHEAT WITH INTENTIONS TO SEED QUINOA. THESE ARE CONSIDERED DIFFICULT TO SEPERATE CROP KINDS
B) YOUR FARM LOCATION IS MORE THAN 50 MILES SOUTH OF THE YELLOWHEAD HIGHWAY (HWY #16 AB, SK, MB). HOT WINDY WEATHER SOUTH OF THIS HIGHWAY RUNS A HIGH RISK FOR THE PLANTS TO SUCCUMB TO HEAT BLAST STERILIZATION
C) YOU HAVE USED HERBICIDES/PESTICIDES IN THE PAST YEAR THAT HAVE A RESIDUAL EFFECT IN THE SOILS.
ANY APPLICATIONS RETURNED WHICH FALL SUBJECT TO ANY OF THE THREE ABOVE CRITERIA (POINTS A, B, C) WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Additionally, grower contracts are NOT filled on a first come first serve basis: but rather offered to the best suited candidates upon review. ****
